Walt Disney World

What can we say about Walt Disney World that you've not already heard!  It really is the headline attraction in the Orlando area and its only minutes away from the Retreat.  We have been to WDW many times ourselves and it's a great experience, especially when you have The Retreat to come home to.  We have found that the "Unofficial Guide to WDW" is a wonderful resource to help you plan your visits there.  Here is a quick map guide to WDW. It is made up of the following attractions:
  • Magic Kingdom - 20 minutes from The Retreat
  • Epcot - 17 minutes from The Retreat
  • Disney Hollywood Studios - 15 minutes from The Retreat
  • Animal Kingdom - 13 minutes from The Retreat
  • Typhoon Lagoon Water Park - 19 minutes from The Retreat
  • Blizzard Beach Water Park - 15 minutes from the Retreat
  • Downtown Disney - 20 minutes from The Retreat

Universal Studios Orlando

WDW's biggest competitor is Universal Studios. More precisely Universal Studio is a direct competitor to Disney Hollywood Studio.  Larger than the latter, Universal boast a wide array movie inspired exhibits and rides. Universal Studios is only 27 minutes from The Retreat. Interesting enough the "Unofficial Guide to WDW" has a section dedicated to Universal.
